As you can imagine, recess looks a bit different this year. I am fortunate to work in a district that values recess, and the importance of students having that "break" from academics. We all know the benefits of recess on children's social, emotional, and physical well-being. Due to COVID, we are unable to "mingle" with other classes during recess and are separated by zones. Students are able to take their masks off if they stay 6 feet apart. However, this limits the types of games and activities kids usually play at recess. You can support my classroom by helping to purchase fun, socially distant recess equipment. These kids have had to deal with so much the last few years; I just want to give them 20 minutes a day to feel like an 8-year-old who looks forward to recess again. Thank you!
