Having Bilingual dictionaries they can call their own to use at home or at school gives them a bit of self-assuredness. They are more independent and may even read it to increase their English vocabulary voluntarily. Computers are amazing, but a book in your hand has a more tangible effect on students. Sometimes there is no electricity or you can not carry your laptop all over with you. A dictionary is something you can! I have seen dictionaries put to good use in my 30 years of teaching. It also is good practice for testing when they have glossaries at hand.
