Our students will use these materials to learn coping skills for when they are having behavioral problems. In a school environment learning Social & Emotional will help them to regulate emotions instead of lashing out or having distractions that limit their learning. The items I am requesting will help students focus on several coping skills to help with regulation of emotions. Items such as: hourglasses, stress balls, expandable sphere all can be used to calm the mind and can be used as a coping skill for de-escalation. Cue cards for both exercise as well as cue cards can allow the child to learn to make choices that best fit their emotional & social behaviors. Other cue cards that I am asking for will also be used for addressing and identifying the coping skills that should be used in certain situations. Other items are requested such as: “Little Spot of Emotions”, “Hand2Hand learning”, and “Choices in a Jar” can be used for “Self Esteem” groups while having visual identifiers.
