My students love to read and get genuinely excited to learn about history, but are often intimidated by longer texts and books. The few graphic novels that I had previously purchased for my classroom were a huge hit, and have become thoroughly read and loved. Many of my students report that graphic and illustrated narratives made learning about history more interesting than ever before. Moreover, with a high number of students with sensory processing disabilities, graphic novels have made history more accessible for all of my students. Graphic novels will help remove many of the barriers preventing my students from independently learning about the history that they are genuinely interested in and excited about. These books will enable me to share my love of history with my students in more ways than ever before. With your generous donation, all of these well-reviewed and culturally relevant graphic novels will be available for my students to check out and take home at any time. For students who finish work early in class, they will also be a great activity to prevent any distractions in the classroom. Thank you in advance for your support!
