For 20+ plus years Kindergarteners at Rossville Elementary have listened to and analyzed the musical elements in the various sections of Camille Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals. After their studies they choose a favorite animal to act out at a performance put on for parents, grandparents, and friends. The children are so proud of what they have learned and eager to share it with the community. Many of the parents of these Kindergarteners remember when they themselves had studied and acted out the same animal parts years earlier. This reenactment of Carnival of the Animals has become a rite of passage for Rossville Kindergarten students as they enter into elementary school. Unfortunately old the costumes became worn from many years of use and were thrown out, so the tradition has been put on hold for few years. We need funding and sewing volunteers to be able to provide new costumes for this longstanding tradition to continue. Thank you for your help and support.
