Flexible seating will help my students to focus while working on various tasks in the classroom. It will minimize the loss of instruction time spent on correcting student misbehavior due to hyperactivity and attention deficits. In an urban, Title One setting, my students need to read multicultural books that reflect the wide range of cultures in my classroom and school. Seeing themselves reflected in literature will improve their self-image. Both of these items will create an environment where my students will feel successful and empowered to learn and grow as individuals.
