Library time is a special time for my students. Having a retreat like space for them in our school library where they can find a calm and beautiful reading environment will go a long way. This space will appeal to many middle schoolers, regardless of reading ability or fluency, and encourage them to step into the library to find a safe and welcoming place where they feel happy and welcomed. This area will serve as a positive sensory space to possibly look for insight or simply curl up with a great book.
