The Germ-Guardian HEPA tower and Clorox commercial wipes will help me better serve my students by allowing those students who have skills deficits to participate in Peer-Tutoring or use flexible seating to receive assistance from a buddy. COVID guidelines have impacted our seating arrangements within the classroom; therefore, having a Germ-Guardian HEPA tower and Clorox wipes will help keep the air and seating areas clean and sanitized as students change seats. Flexible seating options are still available and encouraged to ensure their learning environment remains conducive to making choices and creates a setting that works best for them. During peer-tutoring, learning centers and independent work times, they may choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students may choose to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: “Math to Myself” stations, tables, or at the teacher’s desk for assistance. Making sure students and the learning environment remain safe and comfortable is essential. Adhering to CDC guidelines for operating safe classrooms as well as keeping them motivated to learn can be challenging without adequate supplies. When my students are given a choice in their seating, they feel open to communicate and seek assistance through peer-tutoring. My students who make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. Having additional sanitizing supplies will assist me in allowing my students to continue making seating choices, and motivate them while learning.
