Flexible seating is about more than just providing fun, alternative seating arrangements for students. It is about allowing students to choose where they sit in order to best support their learning. Additionally, allowing students to choose where they work in the classroom helps them to feel empowered. When students feel like they have a voice in the classroom, they are much more likely to be engaged and focused. These stools are one way I will incorporate flexible seating into my classroom. They will allow my students to wobble, rock, and bounce while they work, which help many of my students stay more focused in the classroom. I know that providing my students with a choice over where they sit will positively impact engagement and will help us grow even more throughout the school year.
