These books will build a classroom library where children of color can see themselves in the books they read. Many of my students do not have access to books outside of school which makes it all the more important to build a diverse classroom library. I will teach my students how to read and build comprehension through the use of these books. My kids deserve to read books where the main character looks like them. The books I have selected will help build a diverse and exciting classroom library. I hope this will develop lifelong learners and kids who love to read.
