There are fifteen students in each class period on average. An additional dry erase table will allow more of them to practice critical reading and mathematical skills or brainstorm ideas during collaborative sessions as they imagine and prepare for real-life transitions. Further, dry erase tables meet the needs of kinesthetic learners and make a place for those with physical disabilities. Every student has the right to imagine, plan, and create with a pencil, keyboard, or atop a table, and for some, a creative space in the classroom is the only place they can think, wonder, and work. So, whether bulleting points for a research paper, working on multi-step word problems or jotting down facts and figures for the costs of living, having a cozy corner where students have a place to process information, independently or collectively, and develop critical-thinking skills needed to maximize each facet of their lives. Together, we can help students unlock dreams and open doors; they do not realize exist. Imagine that.
