Because our enrollment numbers are seeing record highs, we have had to turn nontraditional spaces into classrooms. To accommodate the number of learners in our building, many of our classrooms are without windows and lack proper air purification. We know how important in-person learning is to our students. We want to minimize the risk of spreading airborne viruses by ensuring every single classroom space has adequate ventilation and air purification. Our students deserve to be in a learning environment that is safe and equitable to that of their city-wide peers in more affluent neighborhoods.
