We are a MESA group in Albuquerque, New Mexico. MESA stands for Math Engineering Science and Achievement. Part of the requirements for our group is a service learning project. We have chosen to start a school wide recycling program. There is desperate need for this because our school is swimming in single use plastic bottles. We will be learning career readiness skills like working in teams, sending emails, writing proposals and publicizing our project. Our students come from a community where opportunities can be limited and we want to inspire our students to aspire to be better citizens with the skills and willpower to achieve greatness.
