I am requesting classroom posters, historical fiction books and coloring and drawing supplies! Coloring supplies and tools are helpful to students who need a brain break from their academic work. These also help students' social and emotional well being. The posters will create a more positive classroom environment. This is more important now than ever as we transition back into the classroom five days a week. The historical fiction books are for students who prefer to read during down time and who are looking for a newer and interesting book to read rather than choose one from the already small classroom library. Encouraging students to read outside of their academic work is so important! Many of the chosen books feature stories of my student's backgrounds or reflect social studies topics we cover in eighth grade.
