As a resource specialist teacher, I work with students from transitional kindergarten to fifth grade with IEP goals. My students are hands-on learners and do best when they are able to visually see and physically tough manipulative tools for math. My students are also early learners in reading and writing so these materials will support their IEP literacy and writing goals. The color-tape will provide a visual support as they learn to read. These materials will help me provide better support and prompt as we work on their IEP goals. My students work hard on their IEP goals so I reinforce their behavior with a preferred activity. The bristle builders will be a reinforcement when they complete their work and will enhance their vocabulary through their imaginative play.
