The Chromebooks that the students use are so old that multiple times during the day, the students have to access the internet setting and reconnect their Chromebook to the wi-fi. Each time the students have to reconnect to the internet, it interrupts their learning process making it hard for them to reengage back into their lesson. Having new Chromebooks would be a blessing in disguise. I believe the students would be more apt to stay on track since they would not be distracted by old software Chromebooks kicking them off-line.
