The project I have chosen will give my students the opportunity to have an inviting and comfortable space to read in our classroom library. The alternative seating will provide comfort and the new rug to define the library space will provide aesthetic appeal. The set of books will provide many fresh new choices to choose from to encounter new adventures in literacy. My students will be able to check-out books to bring home for a few days or up to a week to encourage family involvement in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading and partner reading. This project will enhance their reading experiences as well as learn the importance of being responsible for taking good care of our classroom library material. Having a classroom library will encourage my students to choose to read more both at school and at home.
