My students are excited to be back in the classroom but at times the classroom noise can be overwhelming to those who have been at home for almost 18 months. The headphones help them focus and zone into their work online, which continues even in the classroom. When giving students assessments to see if they "get it", that evaluation is much easier to have the student complete using technology. When English Language Learners are trying to differentiate sounds, it is difficult because the mask block the teacher's mouth so they can see how sounds and words are formed. When using headphones with appropriate software the learning is much easier for them and they also have their privacy on their skill level.
