Clean, diverse, and organized libraries are essential components in early education classrooms. Students need to be able to interact with literature in a welcoming and enjoyable way. It is through literature that we are able to further develop our classroom community by making text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-world connections. All children benefit from daily opportunities to listen to read-alouds, practice independent reading, and learn from their peers through partner-reads. This requires and extensive collection of texts that are utilized in various capacities throughout the learning day. My classroom will benefit greatly from donations towards building our library.
