The best part about reading a book is getting cozy in a chair or couch, snuggling up with a blanket, and getting lost in the story. This is something that, in a classroom, we are not able to achieve easily. And sitting in a cold desk, without any comforts of home, make reading even less enjoyable than usual. My goal is to try and make reading as appealing and fun as possible, including giving my students the right chairs to sit in! For the past few years, I have had some very comfortable chairs that were donated to my room for them to sit in. It gave my kids something to look forward to and a place to chill when they needed it. However, over the summer, our school was inundated with mold and they were ruined. I had to throw all of them away and didn't have the resources to replace them. The kids were so upset when they came in and saw that they were gone. These chairs are mold resistant and can be wiped off (a COVID requirement for classroom furniture). They will make it a nicer place for the students to curl up and read their books!
