To better reflect our student population, I would like to add more books by diverse authors to our classroom library. Students need to see their own identity, culture, and genders in the books they read. The books selected also include titles requested by the students. Providing books of interest will increase engagement and make reading a source of enjoyment. My students are working hard at growing as readers this year. To support their growth I would love to provide them with more titles and genres that are of interest to them.
