Most PreK3 students cannot read. They love exploring books, but they are unable to read independently. They will flip through stories and look at the pictures if given a book. They will even make up words to go along with the pictures if they cannot read! A listening center will help PreK3 students enjoy books during center time! While I am helping students practice holding their pencils and writing their names at the teacher's table, other students are in centers. A listening center will help them to enjoy the books even more.
