My students will be participating in in-class book clubs where they read and discuss both fiction and non-fiction. Help me keep their options recent, relevant, and engaging. Every student deserves to see her or himself reflected on the page and in the world. These texts address a broad range of identities, interests and styles. Students will practice literary analysis on the fictional texts included here, and will learn to analyze informational texts using the non-fiction selections. Engagement is key to driving literacy improvements, and relevant and interesting works are key to engagement.
