At our STEAM Academy, it is a priority to incorporate creative thinking and artistic processes into all subjects. In music class, my students work on creative projects that incorporate a broad range of other topics, such as technology and history. Students explore these areas in a variety of ways, such as playing instruments, composing original music, and researching musical traditions. Since my students are working on such diverse projects at the same time, they each need a pair of headphones to help them focus on their work. With headphones, students will be able to work independently as well as share their work with their peers without disrupting class. This will give me the freedom to provide guidance to students as they work and lead small groups in enriching musical activities.
