We are looking to turn a corner of our classroom into a sensory corner. This space will provide physical and mental stimulus for children with physical disabilities, developmental delays and sensory impairments. This space will allow the children with physical disabilities, interaction with sensory stimuli can help them to develop their sight, sound, touch and hearing, as well as encouraging independence to touch and seek out a preferred item within this space. We are a development learning program and educationally the time spent in this sensory corner will help children improve their visual, auditory, tactile processing, as well as their fine and gross motor skills. This corner will be used to calm our students when they are unable to calm down. The items selected with allow they a calming moment.
