The art room was very fortunate to receive a beautiful new kiln last year after the previous kiln finally gave up the ghost. Unfortunately, the furniture for the inside of kiln was not included with the new arrival. I would love to use this new kiln to fire some amazing clay projects and the shelves and stilts that make up the ceramic furniture will allow us to do so. The fine motor skills that students develop from activities, such as clay, are vital towards their development. My students love to manipulate materials to create 3-D art. The materials I have selected will provide my students the opportunity to work with materials that do not have access to. The process and the products that come from art can be amazing, but it always comes with a cost. Art supplies are expensive and most of the the time they are consumable. The reward of happy students and smiling faces is priceless.
