Students do not want to learn by just showing them stuff on videos and books. They are more interactive and want to see how what they are learning can be used in reality. We would like to create hands on lab station to allow the students to practice what they learned in technology. We learn manufacturing and how raw materials are transformed into products we see and use daily. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given an opportunity to do hands on projects. They are excited when they work on rubber band cars or CO2 dragsters. By allowing them to see how mathematics is used in technology gives them the extra push to try to understand mathematics. Especially using measuring tools. We use lots of cardboard, but are ready to expand to coding and robotics. Learning how things work together for the greater good.
