The use of headphones in my classroom is a daily need. My students use a program every week for reading where they listen to someone read and then practice their own fluency and ability to read. This will give them the opportunity to have their own set of headphones to use IN THE CLASSROOM to make this program easier in hopes that they can further their reading abilities this year. This will also assist my students in being able to hear themselves read as well as listen to read aloud accommodations that they may have for various activities. How do you listen to reading on your own to make you a more fluent reader if you can't hear reading in your ears? Instead you hear all the computers around you of your classmates as they are listening to their own passages. This is the struggle I currently have in my classroom as most of my students did not come to school with headphones this year or with headphones that work properly. That is why I am working on making this one less worry on my students.
