My students must keep up with the latest advancements in media to keep up with our ever-growing technology-centered world. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. A traditional presentation in front of the classroom can get old and boring until now:
Since our building has become 1-1, where every student has a personal-provided computer, we now can advance our project and presentation options to incorporate technology.
The fact that students learn in a variety of ways is nothing new, however now more than ever technology is available at our students fingertips. New headphones will allow my students to complete modules and take notes while watching videos. Students will be able to move at their own pace as they can rewatch any video or add videos to their presentations that they can listen to and preview before.
These headphones with the built in microphones will allow different types of media broadcasts such as raps, songs, read-aloud stories, and presentations. Is has been very difficult to do these activities when everyone in the classroom is recording at once. These headphones with built-in microphones allow my student's voice to be heard clearly and enhance their finished projects.
Additionally, if funded, these headphones would allow students who are beginning level English speakers to have access to audio texts, spoken translations, and immersive reading functions. The ultimate goal is to allow for equitable practice for all learners regardless of their English proficiency level.
