Flexible seating within the classroom will not only facilitate a classroom environment of productivity and focus, but it will also help to promote a classroom community. Students will feel empowered in the learning process by having seating choice, and this will serve as a pathway to help elicit more meaningful discussion in the plethora of collaborative discussion-based activities promoted in my classroom. In the four walls of my classroom, it is about educating the whole child. This means not only recognizing their learning styles through instruction-based strategies, but also making them feel comfortable and cared for. Flexible seating will elicit success and benefits for all students, depending on their preferred, unique learning styles. "Wherever the students choose to sit, it has to help them be their best learning selves."
