I'm finding my students to be needing more than just an occasional snack once in a while. They are hungry mid-morning and again mid-afternoon. A growling tummy is distracting when you are trying to finish learning to read so that you can start reading to learn. I want their bellies full so I can fill their minds with all they need for third grade. I have been providing snacks for them as best I can, but their bellies appear to be just as hungry as their minds this year. The snacks I have chosen will not only give them the energy to satisfy their hunger, it will help them be better learners.
