When presenting novel studies to an entire class, it is optimal to have an entire class set where each student has the opportunity to follow along with their own copy of the book. I like to engage my students in the love of reading by introducing a variety of novel studies. It is fabulous to watch their excitement each day as I announce it is time to read. Their little eyes light up and they find a spot around the room to get comfortable as we enjoy the book together. Many discussions stem from our novel studies. Listening to students engaged and proactively working together during our novel study is a true inspiration. Many students have gone on to read other books by the same author.
