Technology is the wave of the future and my class will benefit, some of my students come to school not knowing how to type on a keyboard because they don't have computers at home. Then we can't practice in school because we don't have enough computers or a computer lab. It will help keep them focused and reach their academic goals. Some students are visual or auditory, pencil and paper doesn't work for all students. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of working on a computer. Especially when I have kindergarten, first and second graders all in one class, keeping everyone focused gets difficult. The computers give us that time, while one group is completing math or reading on a computer, I can focus on another group. It will really help us manage our time. We use IXL, Raz-Kids, and many more technology based websites. In this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use new technology!
