My students will be using Microsoft surface pro 7 to upload weather images, analyze those images using image J and other image processing software. Students collect data, analyze them, plot graphs, and predict for the next ten years' weather data. These images are from the last ten years and every fifteen days. So, there will be lots of image processing in this project. This project will be very interactive and easily accessible even our students are at home or at school. Students can work with 2 to 3 students in their group. This will be about a month of a research project with a weather data analyst professor from near by university, prepare presentations and participate in energy day organized by the community to present it. As a part of this project, my students will gain an understanding of changes in weather, factors affecting those changes, data analysis, research skills, and presentation skills which will be useful for their AP environmental science test as well.
