Students cannot learn when they are in a place of upset, so much so they cannot manage their bodies or their minds. Having these materials will make so much difference, such as books that share stories on calming and soothing skills, and yoga/fitness mats to move around so they then can sit and work. Children will learn different ways using these materials to calm themselves outside of the classroom with the plan to transfer these skills into their classrooms. The children will learn the idea of inhaling and exhaling using the breathing ball toy sphere while listening to the books telling of the importance in finding quiet and being present. Incorporating mindfulness into education has been linked to improving academic and social and emotional learning.
