As a way to celebrate being back at school we are doing a school wide portrait project and plan to line the halls with all our art work. The staff have started already with a three hour portrait art lesson. So far we have 52 pieces hanging in the halls 20 or so more to go for staff. The students are next. I need a better means to get the art supplies around to the classrooms. Not every teacher has the space for me to easily set up. If I had the cart I would have a desk to work off of with storage space. The school budget I get covered paint and brushes. The watercolor paper will produce a more professional looking piece. I do have some paper but not enough. Our scissor supply is great for the lower grades but a challenge for bigger hands to use. This project touches on our individuality and we talk about how unique we each are. The teachers had fun doing this project and the kids I started with today did too. I cant wait to see the school when it is done.
