The materials on my list will provide students with learning opportunities through creativity. They will be able to build, create, and expand their thinking. I have also added items that will help to support and foster student learning as well as support any social and emotional needs within my classroom. This school year, I have several special education students in my classroom with very few materials to support them and their learning. Many of the items on my list (such as the alphabet letters, ten-frames, magnetic whiteboards), will be used to better support them. The fidgets and building toys will be used to help strengthen fine motor schools, promote team work/team building, create structured play, and provide calming tools. In today's world, many children lose the opportunity of learning through play. It is my hope that in my classroom, I am able to provide students this opportunity. I also hope that I am able to help support my students social and emotional needs through the items on my list as well.
