The students in my class are reluctant readers who shy away from books unless their interest is piqued. Currently, students read books in a virtual library online. Sometimes these books have an audio component, and sometimes the virtual library suggests they use a paperback and read on their own. A classroom set of novels will help to form a sense of community in the classroom so that all students are engaged in the same book. I can help guide my students through the language and themes the book presents to help them with their comprehension so that they enjoy reading.
