Our science lab is brand new since our school is brand new. We have no supplies currently other than the few items that I personally own. This has allowed me to get through a few very basic labs, but as we move forward in chemistry and biology, much more is needed. We need these items to create a more hands on experience for our students and to give them the required laboratory time that they need to be successful and comprehend the subject matter. I feel that these items are essential to getting through the first semester of the year, and that hopefully it will also be sufficient to make a large impact in the spring semester as well. Labs are very important for learning science, and it is also a large part of the curriculum. We are supposed to spend near 40 percent of our instruction in the lab, and without the material, we can barely do two percent.
