I teach energetic seventh and eighth grade students. Our students right now are learning inside of the classroom but we still have high absent rates because students are staying home when they are sick with Covid or Covid symptoms and then being quarantined as well. This has created a challenge as it has for students all over the country. Because this has been going on for a while there are gaps in student learning that we are filling in as well as teaching new material. My students are bright and social and are still developing their critical thinking skills. I like to foster in environment where they feel safe to make mistakes and fix those mistakes. Students are encouraged to redo work retake tests and strive to learn the material until they are proficient for their grade level. I hope to provide a quality educational experience for students in my classroom as well as those learning virtually at home.
