I asked my students to draw their ideal classroom. They drew and pointed out several aspects I can control. But after class they brought up how they would like comfortable seats. (Which is far from what I have in my classroom now) How can students focus on learning if they are uncomfortable in their seat? But this is the reality for my students. If I can start to work towards replacing the twenty plus year old backless hard chipped plastic stools that are various heights because after numerous times being knocked over and/or bolts breaking have made them chipped and support height holes being unusable. This project will help my classroom move towards being a bit more comfortable for my students.
