I am requesting headphones so my students can hear clearly when engaged in online learning. Being educated in the 21st century often involves the use of technology. Students in my class use their computers daily for reading diverse online books at their level, engaging in websites that enhance their phonics instruction, for conducting research projects, assessments, and for additional math support with online programs. Having high-quality headphones will allow students to access and practice online programs, which is critical for practice and advances in academics and the language development of multilingual learners. Unfortunately, our school does not have the funds to purchase durable headphones. Yet, they are much needed for my students to effectively be engaged in the use of technology. In addition, it is necessary for students to have access to reliable headphones when taking online assessments. Student use of quality headphones will also provide me with accurate, valuable data to ensure my instruction meets every student's individual needs. Much student success would come from each child having his or her own pair of headphones to call their own for the entire school year!
