Being a teacher of a Montessori classroom, you strive to create lessons that will be as interactive, engaging, hands-on, and self-guided as humanly possible. In the science classroom, experiments and labs are one of the greatest ways to make that goal a reality. With these lab coats, my students can get a true sense of what it feels like to be a scientist. Their minds will shift gears from the role of a student, to that of a lab technician as they explore the world around us through hands-on experiments. Before we get our hands dirty in the lab, the students can become engaged in the concept of the atomic world, and the idea that everything around us is because of the structure, and bonding of atoms. The interactive Smartboard lesson on atoms, atomic structure, and molecular bonding will create a great foundation for these concepts.
