Students at our school wanted a way to help our environment after learning about the large number of plastics in our ocean. Their solution was to come up with a new trash system at lunch and to form a Green Team at school. For our new trash system, students wanted a way to compost their food scraps. We were able to contact the local trash collection agency and get on their pilot program to composting our food scraps! We are one of very few schools in our area allowed to do this. However, we need your help to make this a reality! We need some new green bins for collecting food scraps, some green vests for the Green Team, and some trash grabbers for the Green Team. This new trash system will help teach our youth the importance of keeping our environment clean while composting the food scraps of over 450 students! We are so excited to start helping the environment by composting our food scraps and we are so thankful for anyone who wants to help us!
