We have a different 'big idea' or value each month. September's is initiative, and we are going to make a seahorse because that is the animal that goes with it. One of the projects is a Seashell Mosaic of a seahorse, and the other is a mobile. Students will learn about Initiative (seeing what needs to be done and doing it) and seahorses this month. They will use their fine motor skills to make a seahorse project. They will not be using these for learning at home. We do hope they take initiative and continue to do so outside of school, though.
