Our school is located in an urban area and students do not have much experience with the many facets of agriculture. Research plays a major part in how students can learn about agriculture and how it impacts them. More than half of our students are from low-income households and do not have access to technology. With Chromebooks, they will be able to play an active part in their learning and get to know more about the industry. As a CTE course, we also help students leave high school with industry based certifications. Many certifications are online but without access to technology, students struggle to complete the necessary certifications. Example certifications that students have the opportunity to work towards are: OSHA General Safety, Veterinary Medical Applications, Floral Design, Professional Communications, and many others.
