My goal in getting this project funded is to provide students with quality art supplies to use as we journey through our artistic endeavors. Furthermore, funding this project would create benefits for teachers and students throughout my school. As an elementary teacher, I believe fine arts involvement is crucial for student engagement and participation, especially in a Title I school with a high level of at-risk students. Research shows that exposing students to fine arts has both academic and social-emotional benefits. It is my hope that students in my classroom can use quality tools to explore their artistic talents and reap the benefits of a fine arts education. I end each school year with a huge school-wide fine arts showcase. Every child in the school has two pieces of artwork displayed in the art show. The art show is always a huge success and brings families and the community together. Funds have been low and art supplies are expensive. I would love for my students to have some brand new art supplies. My students love coming to art class and they deserve it! New art supplies would bring joy to my young art students who look forward to this year’s art show!
