Many of my students live on farms or have limited means. Both situations make it difficult to travel more than 50 miles. Having virtual reality systems would allow us to take guided tours of locations all over the globe. We would use this technology to enhance the social studies and science curriculum and to build background knowledge in language arts. Virtual reality is a proven means to reach multiple learning modalities, engross students in learning and and deepen their understanding for concepts that are otherwise abstract. I have witnessed students thrive with virtual reality experiences and beg for multiple exposures to this technology.
