Our daily classroom routine includes reviewing previous classroom notes and going over student learning objectives. The students use a “I do, we do, you do” model where I stream the assignment through a PowerPoint presentation. Students then copy notes and participate in solving the problems with their Chromebooks. Although each student has their own Chromebook and stylus pen, they often encounter tech issues that prohibit them from focusing or completing the assignments. Since many students are unable to return to campus due to the Covid-19 mandates, I am unable to provide tangible notebooks. I have the challenge of having to present an enriching curriculum that is accessible to all. By donating to our project, you will help to improve student attention and help students rediscover the note taking experience- but in the 21st century! Although the students have learned how to annotate through the Chromebook and other digital tools, solving problems is not the same online. It is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction from either myself or other students due to tech issues, not being able to multitask on a small screen, or other online distractions. By having the Rocketbook notebooks students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning ability.
