I'd love to add textile artwork to our curriculum and lesson plans. We live in rural Appalachia and embroidery is a cultural pastime in our area. I was able to do two embroidery projects with my eighth-grade students last year. One was a rural landscape and the other was one of their choosing. The results were amazing and we receiving specific praise for our students' work. Since last year's class loved embroidery so much, I'd like to continue this year. Our materials were gifted last year, but that gift won't be available again this year. I do have a few handfuls of materials left, but not enough for an entire class. I'd also like to try some Batik artwork this year as well. I have some materials that the previous art teacher left, but I need a few more for that project.
